Heting Chu
Heting Chu is an associate professor in the Palmer School of Library & Information Science at Long Island University. Her teaching and research interests include the use of information technology in library and information science, especially in the areas of information representation and retrieval, Internet, research methods, and scientific communication. Dr. Chu is currently conducting research on digital libraries, Internet retrieval, and scientometric analysis of websites. Her book titled Information Representation & Retrieval in the Digital Age was recently published by Information Today, Inc. as an ASIS&T monograph. Lynn Silipigni Connaway
Lynn Silipigni Connaway is a Consulting Research Scientist, OCLC Office of Research. Her primary responsibilities are to develop and lead externally focused research projects and programs that support OCLC's members and the library community. Connaway is the co-investigator on a two-year IMLS-funded project to investigate the information-seeking behaviors of faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, and netLibrary subscribers. She has been Vice President of Research and Library Systems, netLibrary and Director, Library and Information Services Department, University of Denver. She was on the faculty at the School of Library and Informational Science at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Dr. Connaway received a Ph.D. in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, an MS of Library Science from the University of Arizona, and a BS in Education and Library Science from Edinboro State University.

Brad Eden
Brad Eden is Head, Web and Digitization Services, for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries. Previous positions include Head, Bibliographic and Metadata Services for the UNLV Libraries, as well as Coordinator of Technical Services for the North Harris Montgomery Community College District. He has recently been appointed editor of OCLC Systems & Services, is associate editor of Library Hi Tech, and is series editor of the Routledge Music Bibliographies. He has a masters and Ph.D. degrees in musicology, as well as an MS in library science. He publishes in the areas of metadata, librarianship, medieval music and liturgy, and J.R.R. Tolkien. He recently edited Innovative Redesign and Reorganization of Library Technical Services: Paths for the Future and Case Studies, due out from Greenwood Press in early 2004, and is the author of Metadata and Its Applications (ALA TechSource, 2002).

Yueyu Fu
Yueyu Fu's research interest focuses on information retrieval, machine learning, and data mining. Fu earned his Bachelor's degree in information management from Peking University (China) in 2001. In the same year, he joined the doctoral program of information science at Indiana University, Bloomington. His advisor is Dr. Javed Mostafa. Fu is also a research assistant at the Laboratory of Applied Informatics Research. He work includes developing techniques for discovering concepts and associations from biomedical literature. In addition, he is involved in the areas of web services and cyberinfrastructure.

Thomas Krichel
Thomas Krichel studied Economics and Social Sciences at the universities of Toulouse, Paris, Exeter and Leicester. He lectured Economics at the University of Surrey between 1993 and 2001. In 1993, he founded the NetEc project for online scholarly communication in Economics, and in 1997 he designed the RePEc open library about economics, a model for the open archives initiative. Since 2001, he has been an assistant professor at the Palmer School of Library and Information Science at Long Island University. His homepage is at <http://openlib.org/home/krichel>.

Stephen R. Lawrence
Stephen R. Lawrence is the Deming Family Professor of Entrepreneurship and an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Colorado at Boulder. He received BS and MS degrees in engineering from Purdue University, and his doctorate from Carnegie-Mellon University. Professor Lawrence teaches courses in Operations Management, Technology Management, and Entrepreneurship. He is the recipient of number teaching awards and his research has been published in a number of well-known academic journals. .

Larry Mongin
Larry Mongin received an MS in Information Science from Indiana University in 1998. He has 30 years of experience in software development and systems and network engineering. He is currently working as a research programmer at the Indiana University School of Library and Information Science and a graduate student in the specialist degree program. Research interests include OAI-PMH, Java web services applications, grid and cluster computing, and the semantic web.

Javed Mostafa
Dr. Javed Mostafa received his Ph.D. in information science from The University of Texas at Austin (1994). He is currently the Victor H. Yngve Associate Professor of Information Science and Associate Professor of Informatics at Indiana University, Bloomington. He also has formal faculty affiliations with the Cognitive Science Program at Bloomington (core faculty) and the Computer & Information Science Department (adjunct) at IUPUI, Indianapolis. Dr. Mostafa is an associate editor of the ACM Transactions on Information Systems (http://www.acm.org/tois), and he is the head of the Laboratory of Applied Informatics Research in Indiana University, Bloomington (http://lair.indiana.edu). He has received several grant awards from the National Science Foundation, including a recent one that explores the application of Grid computing in digital libraries.

Stuart A. Sutton
Stuart A. Sutton is an associate professor in the Information School at the University of Washington. Before coming to Seattle, he was an associate professor in the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University, Director of the Masters of Library Science degree program and Senior Research Scientist with the Information Institute of Syracuse. He is a member of the California Bar and received his JD from Golden Gate University School of Law and his LLM in copyright from the University of California at Berkeley: Boalt Hall School of Law. His current research interests include metadata and networked information discovery and retrieval, technology-mediated teaching and learning, and the law and policy of intellectual property.
